| Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Day Giay expressway is a part of the North-South Expressway located in southern major economic area which is a center for overland transportation and major international exchanges and an attractive place for foreign investment. The starting point of project is at An Phu intersection, District 2 (Ho Chi Minh city) and the ending point is at National Highway No.1 in Dau Giay, Dong Nai province. 1- Client : Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC).
2- Consultants TA: HaFICo Group associates with Nippon Koei foreign Consultant (Japan).
3- Total investment: Over 1,500 millions USD.
4- Consulting Contract Value (TA): 18 millions USD
The objective of the project is (i) to solve the urgent demand for transport on National Highway No.1, Dong Nai – HCMC section, and (ii) to impulse the development of satellite urban areas in HCMC, and (iii) to form adequate and efficient access to the future planned Long Thanh International Airport.

Main Features of the Project:
1) Length, Lanes : 51 km, Dual 4-lane (Dual 2-lane in initial stage)
2) Interchanges : 3 interchanges
3) Major bridges : Long Thanh Bridge of PC box girder (Total 2,120m long)
4) Viaduct : Total 6,517m long
5) Minor Bridges : 12 Nos (Total length 2,277m)
6) Traffic Control : ITS System, O/M station
HaFICo Group mobilized some member companies with financial power and personnel ability to implement the project, including: VECC, VCI (HaFICo_Inter), HaFI_TECH, ITC, HaFICo_South, GMEC, IPC. HaFICo implemented best following tasks to meet all requirements of the Client.:
- Surveying and investigating topography, geography, hydrography, materials.
- Detailed Engineering Design of Access Controlled Expressway,
- Cost Estimation and Preparation for Tender Documents (ADB & JBIC standard),
- Assistance in Bidding and Contract Negotiation,
- Environmental Assessments,
- Soft Ground Treatment
- Formulation of Operation and Maintenance Plan,
- Basic Design of ITS System.
So far the project is set to work.
According to VEC’s information, over 4.5 km section from HCM city’s centre will be entrusted Consulting Joint-venture to continuously implement in February 2010 by VEC.
